An Orphan Named Anna

I need your help. Some good friends of ours (Brian & Sarah), who have 1 biological child and 3 adopted children, are hosting an orphan from Ukraine until January 10th. She is lovely. Her name is Anna, she is 13, & in the 7th grade. Her mom died when she was 9 and she has been in the orphanage ever since. According to the orphanage staff, she is quite an exceptional kid. She is quiet and calm. She doesn't speak English, but she is eager to learn. She speaks Ukrainian, understands Russian, & speaks a little Italian. She is very smart. Sarah says she has so much going for her & a sparkle in her eye. She is happy and great with their children. She laughs a lot and has loved being in a real family this week. Anna told Sarah today, through Google translate, that she had bad dreams last night about staying in the orphanage forever. Brain & Sarah are praying and pleading for help for this precious child. At this point, they feel that their purpose is to be the vessel God will use to help find Anna's family. Anna will go back to Ukraine very soon and then she only has 3 short years before she will be turned out on to the streets...we all know what this means for her future. They need our help to get the word out quickly.

Are you feeling that pull towards adoption? Could the adoption of an older child be for you? Would you at least pray about it? If not you, then maybe someone you know... Would you help us spread the word? We are not allowed to post her pictures on the internet, but if you are interested, please email me at rebecca@mattmckee.com and I will put you in touch with Sarah. She would be happy to share some pictures with you through email.

Blessings,
Rebecca
