Exactly One Year!

One year ago today, I saw Ashlyn's picture for the first time on Rainbow Kids and Cornbread & Chopsticks. You know, the one to the right of this post where she is holding the stuffed animal? It's an older picture, but my very favorite. Each picture I have of her is very different. It's weird. It's almost like a different child is in each one. It makes me wonder which one she actually really looks like the most. I think the one at the top of my blog is probably most realistic. It's candid and shows her genuine smile. Her eyes are all lit up at the person she's looking at. Oh, my goodness! I can not wait to see her face to face! I am so tired of staring at these pictures. I just want to get on with our lives, but we still have such a long way to go.

I got an update from our agency on Friday. We asked the facilitator if she could find out if they gave Ashlyn our pictures and letter. They told her that they had. Matt still thinks they didn't, but I am hopeful that they have. She needs to see our faces so that we won't seem like strangers to her when we get there. Also they suggested that we use Ladybugs in Love to send her a birthday cake in February. Have any of y'all done this before?

Can you believe Christmas is in 1 week?! I still haven't finished shoppping and I haven't even bought gift wrap! Where did the time go?
Look who stopped by last wednesday! Carollers!!! It's our neighbor's church small group. We were so excited and so blessed. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Thank you Segalini's!!!
