| Alex acting like a dork on the exercize bike:) |
Can you believe it?! I mean these people (the Michael family) have blessed us beyond words. Matt came up while I was tucking the kids in bed and said, "Can you come down and help? Scott is on his way again with another U-Haul of stuff." I said, "What?!" It was 8:00 at night! Sure enough there he and his boys came, backing up into our driveway AGAIN with another rented truck full of stuff for our garage sale. He said he is now on a first name basis with the U-Haul folks;)
He unloaded all kinds of excercize equipment and one of those huge inflatable bounce slides and more games and home decor...
God is so good! Thank you Lord for Your creativity and for using great people to do your work! We are so overwhelmed.
THEN... I was reading another blog last night about a little girl named Sonya who is waiting for her sister to get here from China. She painted these BEAUTIFUL pictures and has been selling them on her mom's blog in order to raise funds to travel with them to get her. I emailed Cheryl (the mom) to tell her how impressed we were with the art, and how could we purchase one. She came back and told me that they have almost reached their goal and so she was wondering if they could donate some of the pictures to us for us to sell on our blog to put towards our goal! I will get all of that set up on my sidebar soon so that you all can hear their story and see this amazing little artist. For now, here is their blog: www.yiandmeitogether.blogspot.com

Hello, I found your story at my sweet friend, Adeye’s blog. I had to introduce myself. Our story is very similar to yours! We are praying to bring home our two children from China next month. One of them is a daughter who is 12. Like you, we advocated for her for a time, yet always knew that she was ours. When do you think you might bring your daughter home?
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you and praying that your sweet daughter is home soon!
Hi Rebecca, here is our blog.

Hi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog on Adeyes and was so moved by your story. Would you mind sending me your email address? Mine is soneri7@aol.com
I just love your story.
I also came to your blog from Adeye's blog. This last May we adopted two boys. Our older son turned 14 in July and our younger son recently turned 5. We have an 8 year old daughter and another son who is 9. People thought we were nuts to add an almost 14 year old to our family but God had made it very clear to us that he was ours. I had been advocating for him for months as well but thought it was not a good idea to adopt out of birth order. We had committed to adopt our youngest son last summer and never planned to adopt two at once. Both our boys have pretty significant special needs so we thought it would be too much to do two adoptions at once. After God made it clear in December that we were to adopt our oldest and we had sent in our LOI, we found out our two boys were foster brothers. We had no clue but God did.
ReplyDeleteWe just had our six month post placement visit tonight and our boys are doing great. Bringing home two at once has not been easy, especially with both having special needs, but God has been so faithful to meet our needs as they arise. We have been greatly blessed throughout this process and our faith has grown. Our 14 year old son is so loved by all our children and us. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. I know all older child adoptions do not go this smoothly and it is good to be aware of the challenges that can arise. I would not recommend others do what we have done unless God has called them to do it. If God tells you to do it, then He will see you through.
May God bless you and your family on this adoption journey!

Good morning Matt aand Rebecca (and family!!) - I too am a Adeye transfer to your blog - and have to admit that your story moved me!! I'm an RH - I've been a 'ghost poster' at Anthony's blog as well - and in view of all of that have been to china twice now - and south korea once!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I'm moved to tell you that I'm completely comfortable with your decision - no misgivings at all - in fact I can look at her picture and see the 'fit' with you guys - it's good and wonderful and perfect!
So looking forward to continuing to follow your journey!
hugs - prayers - and great joy -
aus and co.
Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteLike those above, I've come to you from No Greater Joy Mom. I am so moved by your story, as you'll soon see why!
I just wanted to tell you that I've been praying for 'Desirae' - (Hope!) for almost a year. My husband and I are adopting and before we began we were looking into adoption and searching the internet for information. I came upon a waiting child website that advocates for children from China and South Korea. This is where I first saw Desirae. I fell in love, she is so precious and her description was so similiar to the description on your first blog post!
We inquired about her (even told our families about her!) and were told that we are too young to be considered to adopt from China. My heart fell. I saved her picture on our computer and would check that website often and just re-read her 'description' and look at her sweet picture (the one with the stuffed animal!).
Finally, she was removed from that site and my heart broke for her. I was so afraid she would never have a family to call her own.
There was nothing we could do but pray. So we did. I also saw her once on the Cornbread and Chopsticks website and my hope was renewed that she still had a chance to be adopted!
It was to my great joy to read your testimony on Adeye's blog and when I saw the name Desirae I knew my prayers for her had been answered! I was so moved!
I just wanted you to be encouraged in the power of prayer and in the Almighty God we serve! He is so good and He cares for fatherless! I am super excited to follow your blog and I can't wait for you all to be united and to get Hope home!
God is SO good!
