I originally started this blog to advocate for Ashlyn and I want to continue to advocate for others like her. There is a PRECIOUS little girl with Down Syndrome listed with Lifeline named "Dakota". She is breathtaking. I saw her a few months ago and it was love at first sight. I am drawn to those with DS. My dad had a cousin named Rex who had Down Syndrome. He was my dad's age, but he was OUR buddy. All of us little cousins used to go visit the hills of NC in the summer to see my Uncle Hugh & Aunt Sue (seriously, the Beverly Hillbillies) and REX. He had a different profession each summer. He started off being a "doctor", then he was a "NASCAR" driver, then he was a "preacher"...Oh, the fun we had!!! Rex passed away at the age of 55. His mother was told he wouldn't live past the age of 5... God had other plans and used him to bless SO many lives.
Anyhow, I know first hand the JOY this syndrome brings to one's family. They are so pure of heart. Just look at this sweet face. Maybe she's waiting for someone just like you to love her and give her a family. If you would like more info, visit www.lifelineadoption.org and click on Mao Ming Kids.
