Lots of Randomness...

That I was too busy to post this summer!

2 posts in one day!

Here goes:

Our good friends, the Putigna's, waiting for their new brother and sister to get off the plane from Ethiopia. We went to welcome them home:)

One BIG happy family!

Ansley @ cheerleading camp.

Nice!

She takes after her momma... (Who cheered for one season and decided it was more fun to hang out in the stands with her friends than jump around all night long!)

We took Aidan and 3 of his best buddies to the T-Rex Cafe in Downtown Disney to celebrate his 7th birthday.

Ricardo, Aidan, Grant, & Liam

The birthday boy and his hero

The birthday boy and his "favorite mommy in the whole world".

Cheers! (relax. It's just root beer people!)

The birthday surprise:) YUM

Digging for dinosaur bones

These next several pix are from VBS. This is Matt with Victor, our children's pastor

Ansley tagged along with me and my 6th grade girls most of the week. They love her:)

A few of my rowdy girls

Gaga Ball: The youth group's favorite game. That's Alex hitting the ball. He hung out and "helped" us with the 6th graders all week since there's no VBS for 7th graders.

Bob: our awesome youth pastor

Me and one of my girls. Her mom dropped her off for the week because she needed a place to put her while she worked. This sweet girl had never stepped foot inside a church before. I Love how God works!

"The Green Room"; AKA, the youth hang out.

Theme for the week

Craft to go along with the theme

Me and some of my girls in small group discussion

Learning about missions from a real-life missionary. He had the kids totally mesmerized with all of his amazing stories of God's faithfulness.

We have a family carnival after VBS every year. Here's Av with her very own box of popcorn.

No carnival would be complete without face painting!

Aubrey & Jasmine: 2 of the sweetest Jesus-loving 6th graders I've ever known. I seriously love these girls. I've been teaching this group in Sunday School for the past 2 years and have decided to follow them on up to youth group. Matt will be mentoring the 6th grade boys as well. There are some awesome warriors for Christ out there y'all! These kids deal with hard stuff. Broken homes, ill parents, unsaved fathers... You name it. But their desire to know their Savior and to be the light in this dark world is an inspiration to me. I love these kids and can't wait to see all that God has in store for them this year.

Aidan and his BFF, Austin. AKA: TROUBLE!

"Dunk the Dad" contest. (That's not Matt)

And an awesome time of worship at the end. What an amazing week! We are so incredibly blessed to be a part of this body of Christ. Thank you, Lord!!!

One of our favorite past-times: Hangin' with the Radcliffe's at their house on the lake.

Boys and daddies ski and wake board and tube, while mommies lay by the pool and talk about EVERYTHING.

Mr. Pete has spent HOURS over the last 8 years or so, teaching Alex how to ski and wake board. He's working on Aidan now. Such a great guy! We love you Pete!

Jill and I could talk for hours... And we do. She is my big sister in the Lord. My walk with the Lord has grown so much over the years because of her great influence in my life. I am so blessed.

Aidan even caught a small bass from the dock after he sat so patiently for hours!

Precious.

I promise, Averleigh does own clothing.

Water Olympic Awards!

So, I think that pretty much sums up the rest of our summer.

I have had so much on my mind these past few weeks.

Homeschool plans...

Adoption plans...

Home renovations...

Playing referee to combatting siblings...

It's been kinda hectic.

Last night I went to ladies night at church and was reminded that when God calls us to do the works which He has prepared in advance for us to do, He also equips us. I have got to spend more time in prayer. Not out of obligation, but out of a great NEED. I need His grace and His power and His mercy. I need so much from Him to get through this coming year. I started to feel so overwhelmed yesterday when the kids were bickering and we were trying to figure out who was lying about the mess in the laundry room. One could drown in her miseries if left to believe that she must summon up her own power to overcome her challenges in life.

I know better.

Praising God for His faithfulness,
Rebecca

  1. I love your randomness! I too, was looking at old pics I never posted. Thanks for the reminder of not drowning in misery....I needed that teeny little blurb today as I struggle with some sad family news from Florida. So thankful God is bigger than me.
