Our Toy Story...

I posted a while back about Alex's childhood bear named Grizz that he made at Ansley's 3rd birthday party at the Build-A Bear Workshop. He "accidently" sold it at a garage sale a couple of years ago. It is a decision we all wish we could go back and undo... but sadly, we can't:(

Alex & Grizz at the Teddy Bear Picnic: Kindergarten

The reality of what we had done came rushing back with regret even more when we saw Toy Story 3 as a family at the movie theater a while back. Disney does such a great job making us feel nostalgic, don't they? That is one of the sweetest movies ever.

Miss Averleigh has been sick again... Therefore I have watched Toy Story 3 at least 6 times in the past 24 hours. (Yes, it is 3:00 AM and we are up watching it again!)

My Poor Baby...

Anyhow...

Matt and I just couldn't stand it any longer...

We loaded the family up in the minivan on Saturday and went to the Build-A Bear Workshop at the Florida Mall to make us a new Grizz.

We also hadn't ever taken Av to make one, so that was a great ploy to get her big bro to cooperate. Cuz he'd do anything for his baby sister. Even risk his super-cool reputation:)

Here he is texting a pic of himself and his new bear to a friend:) He's such a trooper!

Miss Av and her new bear who she decided to name "Baby Teddy Bear"
We realized while we were there that Aidan had never made a bear of his own so he got one too! (Notice the sad girl in the background)
Stuffing the bear with lots of fluff!
Miss Av wanted nothing to do with it.
Yes, I do realize that this is most likely the very last time my sweet big boy will ever be caught doing something like this ever again!

"Whew, it's over and no one saw me!"
Aidan named his bear "TJ" after his friend Liam's dog, which stands for: Thank Jesus:)
Ansley was not too happy that she didn't get to make another bear, therefore she refused being photographed. She seems to have forgotten the trip we took there together last fall to make a bear for Ashlyn and the outfit that I bought for her so that their bears could be matching... And that she has like 3 other bears at home from previous birthday parties. The joys of parenting...

Thankfully, she has fully recovered.

Now, we're just hoping Miss Av gets over this nasty strep... AGAIN.

Blessings,
Rebecca

  1. Morning Rebecca - I rarely tell a parent that "they are wrong" - but this time I've gotta...I guarantee you that Alex will darkend to door of that store at least once more in his lifetime...when he goes there with HIS child some day! ;) What a fine young man that would crawl on broken glass for his kid sister! ;)

Just had to - he's overly cool - and his "man card" is still intact!

hugs - great stuff - aus and co.
