Lifeline (our agency) sent out an update this month about a trip that they were going to be taking to a couple of different orphanages in China. One is Mao Ming; the orphanage that they sponsor, and the other is in Chongqing. Chongqing! Yes, that's right, I said Chongqing!!! Ashlyn is in Chongqing!!! I called Mallory (our SW at lifeline who we adore) wanting all the details. She was so sweet. She always sounds like she's smiling when I talk to her on the phone. I've never met her in person because Lifeline offices are in Alabama, but I am sure she must always be smiling. She told me that she didn't know exactly which orphanage it was, but that she would make sure that Logan (the gal going there) had all of Ashlyn's info just in case. I didn't want get too excited though because there is another orphanage in Chongqing that is actually bigger; the Chongqing SWI. Ashlyn is at the Wanzhou SWI in Chongqing. Something just tells me that it's not Ashlyn's orphanage... BUT, still... You just never know.
SO, this morning I left a voicemail for Mallory because I am sitting here at my dining room table surrounded by my lap-top, pictures of our family, and letters and docs for our dossier and I had some questions. (I took pictures of my table to show y'all, but my hubby highjacked my lap-top when his died last month and he has clogged mine up with so much real estate stuff that there is no memory left to download pictures at this moment. Please pray for closings! He needs a new computer!) She called me back and said that she was at the airport. I said, "Oh! Where are you going?" And she said, "China!" And I said, "What?!" Partly out of selfish panic, but mostly out of excitement for her. She said, "Yes! I am going to Mao Ming and Logan is headed to Chongqing." We talked about how she was going to get to meet all the sweet little faces we see in the Mao Ming videos and pictures, like that precious little Dakota with DS who stole my heart. (She is spoken for). I asked her to give her a hug for me and take lots of pictures. She said she would. She also said, "I have made sure to send Logan all of Ashlyn's info so that she can take some pictures and give her a hug for you if it happens to be her orphanage." At this point I was in tears. I did not want to ask Mallory for that for fear it would be too much pressure, but the fact that she took it upon herself to do that for us simply overwhelmed me to the point of tears. I prayed for her over the phone, we both cried, and off she goes... Today. Right now. On her way to China and the homeland of my soon-to-be daughter.
Oh please, Lord. Let it be the one!
Would you please pray too? And PLEASE pray for our finances. Matt doesn't have any more closings lined up for this month and we are at the very bottom of the barrel. He does have some for next month, but we need the $$$ to send off the dossier. Time is ticking and we want to get to China asap!
Blessings,
Rebecca
