Awestruck!

...I am speechless...

You are NEVER going to believe what happened today!

I joined the Yahoo group from Abby's orphanage about 2 weeks ago and I was just thinking a couple of days ago how strange it was that I hadn't heard anything from the moderator yet, approving my application to join. I started to think that maybe it was an inactive group and thought, "oh well... We'll be there soon anyhow." That evening I received an email from her with the approval:) So I figured I'd look for photos first and then introduce myself to the group. This is a BIG orphanage y'all. I didn't see Abby in any of the group pictures. I did leave a post introducing myself and giving Abby's info and her name: "Ling Ling".

As I was driving in the car earlier today I heard that "ding" on my cell phone. So I looked to see who it was from. (I was at a stoplight:) The words that I started to read jumped off the page and just about gave me a heart attack.

This is from a lady named Veronica on the yahoo group:

Rebecca,
My daughter lived in a "simulated family" in Shenzhen SWI. We didn't find out about the foster situation until we were in country. Her family was all SN kids and many had DS. She has asked us to adopt her foster sister. She may be the same child. I have tons of photos. Can you share a referral photo of her for me to show to Shen Bao Qing? She is still learning English, but may be able to share some stories or information on your daughter if it is indeed the same child.
You know what? I do have some photos. Let me know if you recognize her. My daughter is in the orange jacket.
Abby is in the pink jacket.
I am happy to help with any questions or advice. Our Gotcha Day was March 12.
AHHHH! Basha just said that the child in the pink is called Ling Ling. OK! I have photos!!!!
Blessings and joy,
Veronica

Can you believe that?!

ONLY GOD.

And I didn't even ask Him! He just did that for us! Out of nowhere! That's how much He loves us y'all! That's how much He LOVES LOVES LOVES the orphan.

So, I read the email in like 5 seconds. determined in 2 that it was indeed ABBY and dialed the number that she listed at the bottom.

She answered and I said... "Veronica???" And she said... "Rebecca?!"

We had a blast sharing our stories and revelling in the awe of God. She shared some really great stuff with me including many, many pictures.

ALSO, they are coming to Orlando in February for vacation! Can you believe that? That is not a coincidence y'all. God heard their prayers for Ling Ling and He answered them and now their daughter can rest assured that her foster sister has a family and she will get to see her again!!!

Thank you Veronica! I wish I could hug you!!!

Abby and her foster family

This is her foster mother

Here she is again, always holding her sister's hand:) So precious!

What a cute little dolly she is!!! She and miss Av will be bestest friends!

This is the inside of her home. They are playing a game:) She is in purple.

It's SO SO good to know that she is loved. A foster family is ideal because even though she will greatly mourn for them, she will be able to bond well with us.

I have put so much of my heart into the adoption of Ashlyn, that I really didn't know if I had it in me to go digging for info on Abby. Quite frankly, I was content to just wait. And we've had such a huge peace about her that I just haven't worried one bit. But getting this news today has made me burst with excitement for my girls to get home.

Please pray for a speedy LOA!!! We are praying to get to China NO LATER than December. I am expecting LOA to come around my birthday in September, but sooner would be GREAT.

Blessings,
Rebecca

  2. You better be home by February. I think you have just publicly promised me a hug. If you aren't home by then, we will make a special trip to see you all. How can anyone not believe in miracles? God just introduced us personally, did He not? SO BLESSED.
    With joy,
    Veronica

  4. Rebecca, I am Veronica's mom. She called me minutes after you two spoke this morning. She was just busting to share her miracle. I have just read your story with tears streaming down my face. So much is like Veronica's story of knowing there are children of her heart somewhere waiting to come home. And through the grace of God they will. She is so thrilled that you are adopting her daughter's fostrr sister. Being able to share pictures with you today was a gift and blessing for her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you continue this journey. It will all work out for the best. Why else have the barriers been removed and connections been made if not by the grace of God? Warmest regards, Maureen

  5. Don't you just love "God moments"? ;)

And don't you just love the "value added benefit" of the extended family that you acquire through adoption? I didn't see that coming "back in the day" when we started on this walk thru life!

It's with great joy that we get to add Veronica and Maureen to that list - other folks out there that "get it"!

    Yeah - HOORAH -

hugs and great joy here in Cincy-
