Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay."

My Mountain Top

...That's what this blog is all about. You know, like climbing to the top and screaming to the world from the top of your lungs, kind of mountain top. Yes, family facts are fun, but more importantly, it's about spreading awareness for a great need in this world; the need for someone to rescue the lost and lonely. That could be anyone without the Savior, so I do mean "the lost and lonely" in every sense of it's meaning. And our God is BIG. He is mighty to save...
Adeye's blog really hit home for me today, as it usually does. Matt and I have felt the Lord stirring our hearts towards something more than the "American Dream" for a very long time. We have asked the Lord to show us where, when, how... for a very long time. When adoption opened up for us, I knew it would be bigger than just 1 adoption. The Lord has given me several visions in my life and one of them has always been that I have never had a set number in my head of how many children we would have. I have always just thought of that as God's way of saying, "Leave it up to Me". Well, something is brewing y'all. We don't know what yet, but doors are opening, conversations are happening, blogs are speaking and we are AWAKENED. We have prayed the prayer, "Here we are Lord, send us!" and "Break our hearts for the things that break Yours." He has heard our prayers and one of them He has already answered. Our hearts are broken for the lost and lonely. Whether it's a wayward family member, a lost neighbor, a muslim friend, or an orphan in China. He has brought these things into our path and we love these people deeply. Our hearts ache for them to know the love of the Savior and the healing power in His touch.

When I read Adeye's post today my thoughts were, "Ok, so we are awakened to do something. We hear you Lord and we are willing. Now what?" Do y'all feel the same way? Are you sick and tired of making money, saving money, spending money, buying things, collecting things, running the rat race, burning the candle at both ends? What's it all about? Who's it all for? How is it making a lasting impact in the lives of others? Does it give glory to God or to me? That's a really tough thing to chew on. I dare you to be honest. I dare ME!
We were a part of a very wealthy school for a few years, and the church associated with it for SEVERAL. We woke up one day and said, "What are we doing here? This doesn't feel quite right. This isn't making us as happy as we thought it would. In fact we're feeling rather sick to our stomachs about it." We did the unthinkable and we... walked away. Not from church altogether, of course. We just found one that was passionate about teaching God's Word and discipling the believers.

I have no idea what God has in store for our future, but I can tell you this much, I could care less about the hardwood floors, pool, &  new furniture I used to dream about. It's nowhere on my list these days. I am ready to get to work y'all! I am ready to spend the rest of my life fighting for those children in cribs in Eastern Europe, China, Africa... I agree with those who have spoken up about the celebrities who get so much attention. How about those who spend millions saving the animals? What about saving the humans? I agree with Adeye, we are missing the obvious here. Why should we sit back and give up? Our God is mighty to save and He is on our side! With God NOTHING is impossible.

Blessings,
Rebecca
