Happy 10th Birthday Ansley!!!

It's so hard to believe that our sweet Ansley is 10. TEN! That's double digits, ya know. I remember when I turned 10. It was a big deal. We celebrated tonight with family: Grandma & Grandpa, John & Gran, Cat & Bubba & Jacob, Aunt Char & Daniel, & Ansley's sweet teacher and her hubby Mr. & Mrs. Tosspon. We will have the "real party" with friends on Wednesday at the SKATE CENTER!!! We made baked ziti  (her favorite) for dinner tonight with cheese stuffed breadsticks, salad (for some nutritional value), and chocolate cupcakes! It was a carb-fest!
Our Ansley is such a blessing to so many people. She is an amazing little helper. I filled in in the nursery at church this morning and she and 2 of her friends helped me. Ansley spent the entire time cleaning the countertops, organizing the toys, setting out snacks, and playing with the toddlers. She is very responsible to help out with Averleigh. She sets a great example for her 2 younger siblings and she is always a generous giver. She loves to get money as gifts. She LOVES more than anything to buy things for others though. She is the most thoughtful girl I know. Her name means, "Bringer of the Word of Life". So her daddy picked a scripture to read to her at dinner tonight. 1 Timothy 4:12, "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, & purity, show yourself an example of those who believe." I thought it was quite fitting.
She is anxious for Ashlyn to get here. My hopes and prayers are that these 2 girls will be so close. She pushed for this adoption like you wouldn't believe when Matt kept saying "no". She wrote him a letter and set it on his desk last summer. I still have no idea what it said, but she wanted this so badly. Please remember us in your prayers. We have such high hopes...
On that note, Ashlyn turns 13 on the 18th! We sent her a cake through Ladybugs N Love. I hope it gets to her on time. We also sent a letter and a recent picture of the family. Pray that they give it to her! We could very possibly receive pictures of her with her cake. OH MY HEART! Please pray. We want some sort of connection to her so badly. We are just ready to get her here and get on with our lives. Please continue to pray for her, that God will prepare her heart for us and especially... For Him.

Blessings,
Rebecca

  1. I sure will pray, Rebecca. Now that i know Ansley pushed for the adoption, then i also know everything is going to turn out wonderfully. No child does that unless God is prompting it. :-)
