Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Guess who won a prize???

Me!

Yep! That's right! I was one of 5 winners to receive this new adoption book from Stefanie at "Ni Hao Y'all".

As for our adoption process...not much is happening right now. We just filed for immigration about 7 weeks ago. We should hear back from them in about a month or so. In the meantime, we are starting the dossier process, which isn't too arduous because we completed most of the necessary paperwork for that during the home study part. We just have to get things authenticated and compiled in an order to send off to CCCWA. It looks like we're still on target for a Sept/Oct travel approval date. I have been loving the Jones' blog. Have y'all met them yet? If you or anyone you know is interested in older child adoption, please send them their link. They had a group of photographers follow them along on their journey to adopt their 13 year old daughter Eliana this past 2 weeks. The videos and pictures are amazing. The group is called "The Archibald Project". I emailed them to see how we can sign up for this too. What a great way to document the journey & an AMAZING way to spread awareness and to shed light on the TRUTH of adoption. Reading what Kelli wrote about the some of the reasons the nannies gave their daughter as to why American's adopt kids from China was heartbreaking. You can also read about this at the Archibald Project website.

I emailed the gal at "Ladybugs N Love"... We still haven't heard back from Angela in China concerning whether or not Ashlyn's orphanage bought her the birthday cake we sent them the money for. We also haven't received pictures from them of her with her cake like we requested... So we're not very hopeful at this point. I know some of you have used LNL and have had great success hearing back from your kiddos. How soon did you get feedback??? It's been 2 weeks since her birthday. We'd just love to hear something...anything... We also sent Ashlyn a self-addressed, stamped envelope in the hopes that she might write to us.

As for other areas in our lives... God is working in our hearts and minds and we are so ready. We've been talking with our pastor and some of our elders about where He might be leading us. We've got some things rolling around in our heads that we're praying through right now, but I am here to tell ya, changes are coming. We've been studying Revelation for the past several weeks at church and today hit home with us in a very real way. There is a place we are hoping to visit for Spring Break. They have an 11 month training program for people looking at going into missions. I'll give more details when and if the time comes. Please keep us in your prayers.

BTW, Have y'all see the trailor for the upcoming move, "October Baby"? I can't wait to see it!

Blessings,
Rebecca

  1. Hey Rebecca - congrats on winning the book! Love Stef's blog! Sounds like things are progressing very well - yeah - the dossier was something I never really had any problem preparing - strange how some folks hate that part - I think it's the easiest!!

And I bet you hear something about the birthday soon - time is just one thing that they feel like there is plenty of!!

    hugs - aus and co.

I love feedback from my bloggy friends, so comment away and I'll visit your blog too! However, if you're just lurking anonymously and leaving snarky remarks, this isn't the blog for you. My heart is always to reflect the love of Jesus and be a source of encouragement to others. If anything you read here gives you a check in your spirit, please feel free to lovingly disagree with me in grace:)
