My Little Piece of Heaven on Earth...

I started this blog, as you know, in order to advocate for Ashlyn last year. I was walking on the 22 mile-long trail that runs right through our neighborhood, listening to Leeland singing "Love is on the Move" and it hit me. I couldn't run home fast enough. That was the day of my very first post last February. My trust was in the Lord, but I was still so heartbroken over letting her go. I had to do something. Several people inquired about her during that time. Each time I'd get an email my heart would get so excited and then sink when they'd email back saying she wasn't the one for them. I just knew God had a family for her. I am SO EXTREMELY EXCITED that WE ARE THAT FAMILY!!! I still can not believe it!

Today I decided to take my camera along, because I just had to share this little piece of heaven with you. I spend most of my time walking listening to my music and talking to the Lord. It is the best kind of therapy and it's free. So here it is...

Seriously. We came across a 10 foot alligator crossing the trail right here one night while driving home!

He lives in this lake. Thank goodness gators don't go out for walks during the day!

This trail used to be a railroad. You can still see the old rails on the side of the paved path.

Hey, who's that sexy guy??? Oh, that's my hubby...headed home from his run. ;)

Gotta love Matt Maher. I let it play so Av can hear it too. She likes to sing along:)
