Believe Tour 2012

Matt and I just got back from a day and a half of an amazing conference here in the Orlando area called "Believe". It's for junior high kids. Matt is a mentor in our junior high youth group at our church and he signed me up to attend this conference about a month ago. I got an email from Bob, our youth pastor, on Friday giving last minute details and I thought I'd better call his wife to see just exactly what I was getting myself into. I work with kids too, but 5th graders are way different from 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I started to have flash backs from my own junior high days and it made me question whether or not I really wanted to participate willingly in this endeavor:) I was having visions of squealing, emotional girls and rowdy boys and I started feeling very old all of a sudden.

We got to the church at 5:00 on Friday evening and started checking kids in. In all we had about 60 kids in attendance. We boarded a Mears bus at 5:30 and arrived at the Arena at 6:00. From the moment we walked in the door I knew it was going to be an amazing weekend. There was just that vibe in the air and they were playing some way cool music, which y'all know I love!

All I can say is if you want your junior higher to know how important the Word of God is and where it even came from in the first place, and if you want to see them get fired up about something that will change their lives forever, sign them up right here!

One of the speakers, JP, is a 15 year old girl who attends our church, along with her amazing family. She is a mentor to the young girls and Ansley adores her. Her parents (who just so happen to be the same people who started the Master's Mission where we are headed for spring break) were there on Saturday and we had a chance to talk to them about it. They were fired up that we are considering going for the training program in a couple of years. I love how God works.

Blessings,
Rebecca
