Summer Vacation 2013, Part 5...

Blue Mountain Coaster & Frog Hunting...

Aidan had been dreaming all year long about catching frogs in this pond at the mountain. Last year we noticed that they had designated a special area for the first time where you could actually get in the pond and catch frogs... The night we were there last year, Aidan was not prepared (clothing & gear) and we just never made is back. So this year I promised him that we'd have a special date just for frog catching. He agreed to let Ashlyn come along. This was a really fun time and good bonding time for them both... The first few pix are of us on the mountain coaster. I am SO NOT into roller coasters and thrill rides, but this is truly an enjoyable adventure:) I can only imagine how fun it would be to ride in the winter with all the snow.

Here she comes. Apparently the lady behind her rode her tail the whole way, yelling at her to go faster... Poor girl was not too happy, although you'd never know it by her smile.

Off we go to catch some frogs!

This frog-lovin' boy makes my heart smile. I just love a boy who loves the wildlife!

You should've seen him... He was like the "Crocodile Hunter", only not... Thankfully in Canada there is no need to worry about alligators or snakes:) He was all up in that swamp like a pro!

Ashlyn and I got tired after about an hour of frog watching so we laid down in the soft, cool grass for a rest... That is until Ashlyn sat up, smelled her hands and said, "Oh mom! It smells like dog!" That was the end of that nap.

Aidan, for all the stinky, pesty things you do, I wouldn't trade you for the world!
