The Homeschool Blues...

This happens to me every time I homeschool my kids. Christmas comes and goes and I have such a hard time getting back on track. I really don't like homeschooling right now. No one wants to do the work and I am weary of the battle... All I want to do is put them all in school and sit down and snooze with a good book or movie and a big bowl of chocolate ice cream...

Monday...

I'll start over on Monday...

  1. Sounds to me like a good day for jammies, popcorn, and a movie (& you can even make it an educational one and they might never know!) :)

  2. Your not the only one!!! I haven't touched anything around my house but the remote. HGTV is my guilty pleasure. The kids love watching it too. Days like this and today is one of them.....I have them do bare bones school work and then I send them out to the garage and work on a project together. A few hours later ....a shade maker for out side (that needs to be bolted to the house) made out of hockey sticks and a toddler crib railing. Thanks to HGTV for their inspiration. Maybe it was the outside rooms with Jamie Durry...Not sure. But at the end of the day, they were creative, using team work skills and I got a day to just ummm relax. So grab your bowl of icecream and tell them to go make you something. :O)

  3. Hi! I found your blog on RR. We unschool our kids. We love it. You would be surprised what your kids will learn as they explore on their own with you as facilitator but not teacher! It's amazing. The Unschooling Handbook is a wonderful resource. Just a thought! Cheers!
